About Babe Ruth League

Founded in 1951, Babe Ruth Baseball League was created for ballplayers ages 13-16 who wished to continue their baseball playing experience beyond the age of 12. This is where players get their baseball cleats muddy for the first time on standard 90' diamonds under Official Baseball Rules used by Major League Baseball.

Game & Practice Schedule

Prep/13u and Babe Ruth teams play two games per weekday, with one practice over the weekend.  Practice time and location will be provided by the coach once teams have been formed.  If your player is not available for  practice on specific days and times, please make sure to discuss with your coach.

PREP/13U

Players often express a fear of competing with 14-16 year-old players who have already experienced one or two years playing on a standard 90' diamond. Babe Ruth League introduced this prep league-comprised of teams with only 13-year-old players-to foster more participation in the game for this age group.

  • 54' pitching distance and 80' base paths.
  • Games are maximum of 7 innings or 2 hours
  • Games are at The Regional Athletic Complex (The RAC) or Rainier Vista in Lacey.
  • Prep/13u teams are drafted by Managers after Player Evaluation, unless the player is already part of a team.
